Beaches and Coastline

The beauty of Wood Cottage is its proximity to some of south pembrokeshire's most glorious and award winning beaches, with fine unspoilt sand, rockpools to amuse the kids and gently shelving beaches which are ideal for bathing.
Several are within easy reach of Wood Cottage and the others just a short car journey or bus ride away. Few holiday cottages in Britain offer such privacy and relaxation, with some of the finest beaches in north west Europe on their doorstep.

Each beach featured is an absolute stunner with its own individual charm and magnetic draw. You will soon discover your favourite, and find yourself returning over and again for an annual fix of the wonder of this unspoilt coastal paradise.
C
hoose from 'The Times' favourite beach in Britain, the National Trust's (NT) Barafundle for its peace and tranquillity, and then stroll back along the coastal path to the Stackpole Quay teashop for afternoon tea or an icecream with the kids.

Broadhaven South (NT) offers the convenience of toilets, a car park and the excellent food and real ale offered at the St Govan's Inn closeby. Then there's Freshwater East if you fancy a slightly longer walk and the welcoming sight of the Freshwater Inn perched high above the beach with its seascape views. A perfect place to retreat after a leisurely day on the beach.
Or why not try Manorbier with its splendid castle in the background, steeped in medieval history, or Shrinkle beach if you really want to escape.
Lastly if you fancy blowing the cobwebs away, take a drive over to Freshwater West,  a wild and beautiful place with its looming sand dunes and vast sandy beach - unfortunately not safe for swimming, but a great place to walk and explore with all the family.
